L’episodio si è verificato ieri nel carcere delle Sughere, il penitenziario livornese, fronte caldo nel panorama carcerario nazionale afflitto da enormi criticità e disagi a cui è costretto a far fronte lo scarso personale addetto alla sicurezza. A denunciarlo è il leader del sindacato autonomo Domenico Mastrulli. Secondo la ricostruzione dei fatti un assistente capo di polizia penitenziaria è stato colpito con uno sgabello lanciato da un detenuto non nuovo a condotte rilevanti sotto l’aspetto disciplinare. Il poliziotto è stato costretto a ricorrere dapprima alle cure dei sanitari del penitenziario quindi a quelli dell’ospedale cttadino, dove è stato dimesso con prognosi di 7 giorni e 4 punti di sutura in fronte. Il sovraffollamento, una discutibile gestione dei detenuti e le complesse relazioni sindacali sono argomenti noti al Co.s.p. Il sindacato è più volte intervenuto con azioni di protesta in ordine alle ben note carenze strutturali e organizzative del complesso penitenziario all’interno del quale si registra, secondo la Federazione Sindacale Cosp, uno stentato riconoscimento dei diritti sindacali. Ci auguriamo provvedimenti disciplinari esemplari nei confronti del responsabile come monito verso chi non ha rispetto della legge e di chi è chiamato a farla rispettare, a cominciare dalla proposta per quanto previsto dall’art. 14Bis O.P., strumento disciplinare andato colpevolmente in disuso, nonostante la gravità dei fatti registratesi nei penitenziari italiani in generale ma anche in quello livornese (e qui ci riferiamo ai tentativi di introduzione di sostanze stupefacenti che nonostante la “flagranza” ad oggi non ha sortito nemmeno i logici trasferimenti in altri istituti per i rei… !). Il segretario nazionale Mastrulli in una nota inviata al ministro della giustizia Bonafede ha protestato, già più volte nel passato, per le gravi condizioni delle carceri toscane, chiedendone con forza un incontro urgente, invito finora non accolto.
